Recycled Soap Making Workshop

In this workshop, we're all about using natural resources wisely and finding smart ways to reuse what we have. You'll learn how to turn used cooking oil into amazing soap, following the idea that nature doesn't create waste. It's a fun, hands-on experience where you can get creative and personalize your soap with dried plants, flowers, spices, and essential oils. Plus, you'll be picking up some practical skills and old-school know-how that dates back several millennia, with some adjustments thanks to modern understanding of chemistry. By the end of the session, you'll have a unique soap to take home and a fresh perspective on sustainability and making the most of what we have.

For those who are reserving their place, here is a couple of additional information: please wear or bring clothing suitable for a chemistry lab (something that can get messy, preferably long-sleeved). If you have any particular spices, dried plant materials or essential oils you'd like to use, feel free to bring them along. I will provide silicone molds to shape the soap, but it will take a few days to harden before you can take it home. You are welcome to come by and pick up your soap after a week, or you can bring any soft plastic container (like supermarket hummus containers or similar products) to pour your soap into and take it home directly. I will also provide some of these containers, but I may not have enough for everyone.
